Welcome
Welcome to the Howard Club of Southwest Florida’s website. We hope that as you navigate these pages that the mission and work of the Howard Club will come to life for you. The Howard Club grants scholarships and actively promotes the education of students aspiring to attend Howard University. Our work is best described in the stories of the students being educated in science, technology, engineering, math, and so many other disciplines. They will make tremendous contributions to the quality of life in our community.
We are thankful to all the people over the years who have contributed to the success of our Organization. The Howard Club of SW Florida is made up of people from all walks of life. They believe in the quality of education provided by one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in this country bar none. Our membership includes not only alumni but anyone wanting to support the Club in its mission to strengthen not just Howard University, but all Historically Black Colleges and Universities across this country. Established when the doors of higher education were shut to people of color, Howard
University became a place where students could receive a college education in a nurturing and proud atmosphere. We are thankful to the many people who have given to our cause by supporting minority education and college readiness in Southwest Florida.
On our website you will find out how you may become members of the Howard Club. You can support our efforts by making a contribution and/or attending one of our many fundraising events. Our fun and festive events, notably the annual luncheon, are designed not only to bring people together, but to honor national and local persons who are making a difference in our community.
Howard University is a special place where education is valued, while serving to make a difference in the lives of young people. The Howard Club is proud to assist in this effort as an organization that works proudly to give young people a chance to reach their full potential. It is my hope that you will find this website full of information that will assist you in seeing the benefit of contributing to such a worthy cause.
