Recommitment Ceremony

April 28, 2018

The Howard Club of Southwest Florida, Inc. hosted a recommitment reception to increase the Club membership and to enhance support for southwest Florida students to attend and graduate from Howard University.  The event was held on April 28, 2018, at Libby’s Restaurant from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m..

Previous members and prospective members of the Howard Club were invited to attend the Recommitment Reception.  Thirty-two people participated.  As a result of this event, Club membership increased from 30 members in 2017 to 62 members in 2018.

Immediately following the Reception, Lillian Lincoln Lambert, Howard alumna, and the first African-American female to earn an MBA from the Harvard School of Business, sold copies of her book, The Road to Someplace Better:  From the Segregated South to Harvard Business School and Beyond.  She is an entrepreneur and the winner of the Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award.  Lillian donated $5 to the Howard Club Scholarship Fund for each book sold that evening.
